"The balance has shifted."

"Dark energies gather north of here. They are thick and blinding. I can't focus my senses on anything else.

All the readings pointed to the Plague Hollow as the source of the darkness, so I investigated first thing this morning.

I nearly lost my life in that cave. When it became too dark to see, I lit a lantern and found myself surrounded by Plague Mites. It was like the floor was made of them, all writhing their way towards me.

I managed to escape, but the sheer number of them is very alarming. Plague Mites are attracted to the rot of corpses, but it would take many, many corpses to draw such a multitude of them. (Why would anyone gather that many corpses in one place?)

I don't pretend to understand this, so I beseech you to go to the Plague Hollow and investigate the source of this dark energy. If possible, bring a piece of the corruption back to me.

While you are there, please eliminate any Plague Mites you find. If even a single one is left alive, they will continue to multiply in this area."
