"A great evil surrounds this forest."

"I am sorry I must inform you that The Dreamdrift is currently off limits to outsiders."

What's going on?

"Nothing you should concern yourself with, citizen. Suffice to say that your life would be in peril if you choose to ignore my warning."

I can handle it.

"You've heard about what happened to Whalesong Cove, correct? The vile fog that created those fiends? (It's as if the whole world is falling into darkness)

Well, that fog crept north and infected the Dreamdrift. It's had quite an impact on the creatures and sprites that called the Dreamdrift home.

The sprites are particularly suceptible to this type of corruption as they are spiritually linked to the entire forest.

I can tell from the look in your eyes that you will not heed my warning. You fancy youself a warrior. Very well.

If you're going to throw your life away by traveling to the Dreamdrift, please look out for what we Incantation Researchers call the Demonroot Sprite." (So many brave warriors go in, very few come out.)

This guardian spirit will appear if you are hostile to the creatures surrounding the Dawnwood Tree. If it appears, be ready for a fight."

"Remember, the Demonroot Sprite only appears if the tree guardians are defeated."

2. Defeat the Dawnwood Lookouts around the Dawnwood Tree in The Dreamdrift, then defeat the summoned Outraged Demonroot Sprite

Dawnwood Lookout:

"Intruders must die!"

Enraged Dreamroot Sprite:

"You will not defile this place!"

"Your body will enrich this soil!"

"I will rturn, defiler!"

3. Talk to Hogum

"The Dreamdrift seems... peaceful somehow."

"So, have you been to the Dreamdrift? Did you see the Demonroot Sprite?"

Yes. It is no more.

"I think you are being optimistic. These beings have lived in the Forest forever. Your victory is temporary at best."

It will return?

"Someday, aye. Hopefully when the Sprite returns, the corruption that plagued it will be gone and these beings will finally be at peace. Thank you for your work today, warrior. (As long as the corruption remains, the Sprites will remain tainted. Best not ruin the warrior's mood.)"
