A pet is a companion that a player can summon. They are non-controllable, but aid the player in their battle through buffing some defensive attributes. Pets can be acquired through various methods. The pet system was introduced to the western market with the Vengeance Breaks update on June 1.[1]
*Only the Untamed and unequipped version of a pet can be traded. Equipping or upgrading an untamed pet will bind it to your character and will make it unable to trade.
**Pets can't be salvaged directly, but are more or less used as ingredients on Transmutation to craft Pet Enhancement Stone or Sealed Pet Enhancement Stone. For better insight on transmuting pets, see below.
*** Pet summon times were removed in the Blue Lagoon content patch. Pets now do not timeout and also petnip was removed.[2]
Upgrading Pets[ | ]
Heroic pets can be upgraded from Untamed to Stage 10 increasing its stats. All pets share the same upgrade cost. Upgrading will increase the buff by 1,100 HP and an additional 510 Defense by upgrading from stage 5 to stage 6. Every upgrade after stage 6 will also add an additional 100 Defense.

Awakened and Legendary Pets are now available through the Transmutation menu.[3]
Combine a "Heroic Pet - Stage 10" with any 3 Heroic pets, 5 Pet Enhancement Stones, and 15 Gold to upgrade it to an Awakened Heroic Pet - Stage 1.
Combine an Awakened Heroic Pet - Stage 10 with any 3 Heroic pets, 15 Pet Enhancement Stones, and 30 Gold to receive a Legendary Heroic Pet with one of four random traits.
Combine a Legendary Heroic Pet with any 3 Heroic pets, 3 Pet Enhancement Stones, and 15 Gold to re-roll the random trait.
Please note that it is possible to receive the same random trait.
Pets with the Ultimate trait cannot be re-rolled.
These transmutations cannot fail.
Legendary Pets can receive one of four random traits which gives them a chance to provide a six second buff with a 1 minute cool down when hit.
"Awakened Heroic Pets" add the same buffs as before but a lot less per stage HP and defense, but they also increase HP recovery and gain a HP on crit hit buff.
"Legendary Pets" add the traits below, beware this is random. So you might not get the trait you want on the first try.

The Otter Pet is now available from the Pet Pouch in the Hongmoon Store!
For a limited time, you can upgrade your existing Heroic Pet - Stage 10, Awakened Heroic Pet - Stage 10, or Ultimate Pet with the Otter Pet and various materials to receive the corresponding Otter Pet.
This can also be done with the Griffin Pet and will be available for a limited time.
Untamed Otter Pet now drops from Desolate Tomb.
Reindeer Pet was available during the Christmas event.
Dragon Pet was available during the 1 Year BnS event and subsequent events in Store.
