What happened?

"The Stalker Jiangshi happened. I tried to take the charm off of its forehead. It...didn't like that. It came at me with its claws. It smelled like egg noodles and rotten teeth and my grandmother's closet. When it struck me I felt like I aged fifty years. I screamed so loud that all the mangy wolves roaming the hillsides howled in response. Some of the guards think I'm a coward, but I don't see any of them lining up to dance with the Stalker Jiangshi. You're the only one here who has any courage. Can you please get the charm off of the Stalker Jiangshi? Once we have the charm, we can figure out how to end this nightmare."
