Page needs to be re-written[edit source]

This page is written in a very unprofessional way that doesn't meet the standards of a wiki. I don't have the time to edit it now but will do this later when I have the materials (screenshots, accurate information). XXISerenaIXX (talk) 13:45, 13 July 2015 (UTC)

As long as this page mainly revolves around the unofficial RU server, I think it is safe delete it altogether.--^|_| (talk) 17:38, 13 July 2015 (UTC)

Proper Format of all Weapon Pages from Here On[edit source]

Hey guys, so, there are pretty much no pages for any weapons right now (there are like, 5 or so pages for Lynblades made by Nivilaw), and that's all I could find (under Category:Weapons at least). So, I was thinking about starting in on weapons, since I'm pretty much done with all Profession-related pages except for Soul Wardens (cus I really don't get what Soul Shield primers are) and Forgekeepers, which naturally transits into making pages for weapons. So, before I make any more pages, I wanted to get consensus on how best to format weapon pages in the future. I see that Nivilaw has been using the itembox template with a screenshot of the ingame weapon management screen put into a Gallery subheading (like this). However, three things bother me about this format: 1) the left side of the page looks really empty, 2) the actual image of the weapon feels thrown under the bus, and 3) the numerous colors sort of work inside the game because the info window is wider there and also cus the font is much smaller, whereas here it just looks cluttered and flashy (plus when we start linking certain elements in the infobox, like the stats and items mentioned, we add even MORE color). Therefore, I want to propose this format instead. What do you guys think? Chifuyu (talk) 01:20, 6 February 2016 (UTC)

I think a mix between the two would be ideal. I like the panel on the right but it is indeed cluttered with information and leaves the rest of the page quite barren. I think ideally we should keep the main info, name and icon in a panel on the right (it also looks repetitive to have the name twice on the left), but move the acquisition and advance/evolution/breakthrough information to the left of the page since it usually takes more space. I like the lists you've made in the Hongmoon Sword page as they seem a little clearer than the weird vertical equation we have in-game as well as in the Template:Itembox. To make it a little more flashy we should also have the small icons we have for Template:Itembox instead of plain old lists. Also like the picture at the bottom to give an idea of how it actually looks, given that the icons are a little misrepresenting. --Cappucciruno 01:58, 6 February 2016 (UTC)
Hi, I will stick with your style, I'd just make a note about differentiate between weapons that can be just consumed and weapons with an evolution path. Maybe two distinct subcategories of Category:Weapons ? --^|_| (talk) 13:14, 17 February 2016 (UTC)
I'm not familiar with how weapon pages usually are, but your format looks fine to me. I'm thinking a happy medium between the game's formatting and the standard wiki formatting. It would be nice to have the small icons in front of the text when linking items though. I believe it's possible to do that automatically rather than manually after coding in some templates. --FallingMoonSinkingStar (talk) 16:59, 17 February 2016 (UTC)
Yes it can be done, but that requires the file name being formatted with same pattern for all used files. As example, something like "<item name>_icon.png", this way the template can use the item name as the only parameter and show its icon too, without the need to add a file name parameter. If you are fine with renaming all item files, of course. --^|_| (talk) 18:40, 17 February 2016 (UTC)
One problem with this method is some icons are re-used in the game for different items, so we'd have to have duplicates of the same files. Also renaming all the files sounds like a major pain. I did think about having the item pages have some page-defined variables like quality of the item and image, which could then just be pulled by templates from the page itself, but unfortunately that didn't seem feasible when I looked into it :( --Cirno.pngCappucciruno 01:50, 18 February 2016 (UTC)

Evolution Path[edit source]

I've recently added an evolution path table to the Lynblade, feel free to change it as you feel it is better, I've added that only to track the evolution materials needed. --^|_| (talk) 13:14, 17 February 2016 (UTC)

Do you think having a page for each weapon's evolution path might be useful? I was thinking maybe we should do that, sort of mimicking evolution guides floating around the web. Haven't really given much thought to a style and format yet though. --Cirno.pngCappucciruno 01:50, 18 February 2016 (UTC)
I agree on evolution on its page, because I see that is going to be a large table, whatever the format it will be. What about put it into <weapon>/Evolution subpage? --^|_| (talk) 08:27, 18 February 2016 (UTC)
Hmm, I was thinking of having a page more like "<Weapon> Evolution" since technically while the first weapon is always Hongmoon, that evolution path is linked more to the weapon kind than the first in the transformation. What do you think? --Cirno.pngCappucciruno 00:18, 19 February 2016 (UTC)
That's fine to me.--^|_| (talk) 10:27, 19 February 2016 (UTC)
