Podan the Humble is one of the Three Sages from the Naryu Empire. He along with Dokdan and Jakdan helped raise Mushin and built Mushin's Tomb. Of the three, he is the most laid back, preferring to take it easy with good food and doesn't partake in Dokdan and Jakdan's frequent squabbles.

History[edit | edit source]

During the Naryu Empire, Podan, along with his fellow Sages, helped to raise young Mushin after he was ostracized by the royal family. He aided in building Mushin's Tomb that housed Mushin's Legacy.

First Arc[edit | edit source]

He approaches the hero as a random old, homeless man in Oakshade Village. He comes by at the end of the quest and asks why General Han has been crying for hours. Hearing that Han has lost someone close, Podan advises the player to offer some incense. Noticing the hero's ailment due to the Mark of the Black Rose, he advises the hero to go see Dokdan the Healer in Sandstone Refuge.

He isn't seen again until the hero arrives at Bleachbone Outpost where Podan is waiting for the hero to offer them a hint on the location of the Golden Crest in Shadowmist Keep. When the hero learns that Juwol and Soha had been captured by the Bonemask Tribe, Podan urges the hero to go rescue them before they are flayed alive and eaten.

He reveals his true identity as the third and final Sage at the very end of the Shadowmist Keep, after the hero has both the Silver and Golden Crests required to activate Mushin's Wings. He tells the hero that the Dark Lord's minions are already on their way to collect Mushin's Legacy and that the hero must hurry.
