Windwalking is Blade & Soul's most basic form of transportation. By double tapping W, you immediately transition into Windwalking, granting you an incredible boost in both speed and agility. While in this state you run at very high speeds, jump incredibly high, and perform some visually impressive acrobatics while doing so.
However, there is a limitation to this ability. Aside from only being able to use Windwalking out of combat, this mechanic requires Stamina, whose meter is located directly under the HP and Focus meters. Stamina will drain at a constant rate while Windwalking. Once this meter is depleted, the player will be forced to stop and will not be able to Windwalk until they have recovered some Stamina.
Basic Windwalking skills are obtained while going through Heaven's Reach. Windwalking is one of the fastest ways to travel outside of Windstride. More windwalking skills can be trained from Old Man Cho's windwalking quests, starting at Jadestone Village. You need to talk to the Elderly Hermit to start the Windwalking questline.

- Water Dash: Press W twice or press W while holding Shift while on water to dash swiftly across it. Water Dash automatically activates whenever you walk over water while Sprinting. Water Dash can be activated even if you are currently swimming.
- Air Dash: Press W twice or press W while holding Shift while gliding to soar quickly through the air. Air Dash is similar to Glide, but much faster (but slower than Sprint). Stamina will be drained at the same rate as if using Sprint. Landing from Air Dash with Stamina left will begin Sprinting (unlike Glide, which will start walking normally). If Stamina runs out while using Air Dash, it will revert to Gliding. If the character is at a high enough altitude to regain Stamina before hitting the ground, Air Dash can be used again.
- Dive: While Gliding, press and hold S to descend quickly towards the ground. This will fully negate any fall damage that would've been incurred from falling regularly, on top of reaching the ground at a faster rate.
- Surge: Right after a successful Dive, press W twice or press W while holding Shift to start Sprinting right away, avoiding the landing delay.
- Vault: Press Space in front of an obstacle during Sprint to leap over small obstacles without jumping as high as the Sprint Jump. The right timing can be tricky to get.
- Wall Dash: Activates when touching a wall during Sprint, Sprint Jump, or Air Dash. Dashes swiftly across a wall.
